980. Give a complete stranger a compliment

Seven billion. Recently, the population of the world has passed that number. Seven BILLION. That’s a lot of people. Depending on where you live (like in a big city), it can be obvious there are so many other people besides you.

We pass each other on the sidewalk. We sit next to each other on the bus or the subway. We’re constantly around each other, yet we live as if we’re divided. We recognize there are so many people around us, but try not to pay them any attention.

This can bring about an atmosphere of loneliness and loneliness is contagious. Fortunately, though, so is happiness. Break down the loneliness that divides us by giving a complete stranger a compliment and spread the happiness!

Even small statements such as “I like your hair” or “Nice blouse” can go a long way to brightening someone else’s day!

  1. The world does need kindness. It may be one in a thousand, but it all starts with one heart, trying to make a difference. As a parent, I try as much to compliment my son. It builds their self confidence plus it teaches him to do the same for others. We need to live a life of positive examples. Great post.

  2. I do this all the time. If I really like someone’s outfit, hairstyle, their writing skills, etc, I always let them know. People really do appreciate even the smallest compliment.
